This Men’s Health Week, it’s time to put your heart first. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men worldwide—and many don’t see it coming until it’s too late.
🔹 Men are more likely to develop heart disease earlier than women.
🔹 1 in 4 men dies from heart disease.
🔹 More than half of men who die suddenly from heart disease had no previous symptoms.
These are sobering facts—but here’s the good news: most heart disease is preventable.
💡 Understand the Risks
Heart disease often builds silently. Key risk factors include:
High blood pressure (often undiagnosed in men)
High cholesterol
Smoking
Physical inactivity
Unhealthy diet
Chronic stress
Excessive alcohol use
Family history of heart disease

🏃 Move More:Just 30 minutes of moderate activity a day—like walking, cycling, or even mowing the lawn—can strengthen your heart.
🥗 Eat Heart-Healthy:Choose fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Cut back on salt, sugar, and saturated fats.
🚭 Quit Smoking:Smoking damages blood vessels and raises your risk for heart attack. There’s no better time to quit than now.
🍺 Rethink Your Drink:Heavy drinking raises blood pressure. Stick to no more than 2 drinks per day—or skip alcohol altogether.
🧘 Lower Stress:Stress hormones affect your heart. Deep breathing, hobbies, exercise, or a simple conversation can help.
🩺 See Your Doctor:Don’t assume you’re in the clear. Many men with high blood pressure or cholesterol don’t feel any different—until something serious happens.
