An echocardiogram is often recommended for symptoms such as shortness of breath, palpitations, chest discomfort, swollen ankles or suspected valve problems. It is also recommended if you have been told you've a murmur, abnormal ECG, past episodes of passing/blacking out and family history of heart conditions including sudden cardiac death.
An ECG records your heart’s electrical activity for a few seconds while you lie still. A Holter monitor records your heart rhythm continuously for 24 hours to 7 days as you go about your day.

No — you can book directly with us. A referral is not required if you are not on a waiting list. If you are on a waiting list, please ask your GP for a copy of your referral and bring it along with you.
